Swim Naked outro (Track 3), Reprise outro (Track 4), Can't Help Falling In Love (Track 7), Fame (Track 9). Total CD Time: 75:03

Notes: I was pretty satisfied with the way disc number one turned out. It's a bit frustrating trying to keep the volume level at a comfortable level with the constant change of venues so I tried to "block" some Dave speak and tunes in from the same show. One of my favorite parts in the entire compilation is listening to Dave stop the beginning of Crush and talk about how freaked he was.

"If I Were Crazy" intro, Message In A Bottle, Norwegian Wood (Track 5), Improv Jam intro, You Shook Me All Night Long (Track 10).Total CD Time: 72:58

Notes: I have to say both songs from the 2.7.99 show in Pennsylvania blew me away on this disc. The intro jams to both sounds amazing. Certainly a congratulations of sorts has to be given to the crowd from that as Dave commented on how quiet they were.

Disc #3
Track 1. Dave Speak: Airplane Gas - 3.13.99 - Berkeley Community Theater, Berkeley, CA, 3:41
Track 2. Typical Situation - 2.7.99 - Weis Center, Lewisberg, PA, 6:04

Track 10. Warehouse - 3.10.99 - Bridges Auditorium, Claremont, CA, 8:30
Track 11. Halloween - 3.6.99 - Union Hall, Phoenix, AZ, 3:50

Total CD Time: 62:14

Notes: Probably my favorite disc I put together for this compilation. The back-to-back punch from Say Goodbye and Spoon I thought sounded nice. You could feel the electricity from that crowd in Connecticut during Say Goodbye. Also, without a doubt I loved the version of Reconcile from Oakdale. I tried to segway it into Warehouse much like Bartender rolls into Don't Drink The Water. Anyway, it seemed like a great way to close the first half of the compilation up.

Some Do Some Don't (Track 3), Dixie Chicken (Track 7). Total CD Time: 71:20

Notes: I liked the beginning of the second simulated show. You gotta love listening to Dave talk about his new drawstring pants he found. Between Satellite's alternative key beginning along with a passionate sounding Deed, the disc closed in good fashion.

Track 13. Two Step - 2.6.99 - Jorgenson Auditorium, Storrs, CT, 6:35

Special Guests: Carlos Santana (guitar) (Track 11). Total CD Time: 75:27

Notes: This disc seems to contain the most enjoyable Dave Speak of the compilation. I always enjoy the "lashing" story he speaks of back in his school days. The Crocodile Hunter imitation was a fun one as well. Musically speaking (even though the quality isn't as good) I really enjoyed the enthusiastic version of So Much To Say. That version made for a good sing-along.

Special Guests: John Popper (harmonica) (Track 4)
Can't Buy Me Love, All You Need Is Love (Track 6). Total CD Time: 48:32

Notes: "Lights down you up and die." I love how Dave repeated that a few times before drawing the curtain down. Just a great way to finish the compilation up. Finishing up the guest list with John Popper seemed fitting. I really enjoyed Christmas Song and the crisp sounds coming from Kresge during the version.

I really enjoyed putting this compilation together. I wish I could've included every venue on the list, but unfortunately quality dictated otherwise. It's too bad there's no way to edit the volume control so the listener doesn't have to periodically change it. As part of the compiling of songs process I always take pride in what quality I'm able to squeeze out of the shows I own. While there are some songs that are a little light in volume, the only song I worried about quality wise was Rapunzel. There were a few pops during the Dave Speak after the song. I tried to include as many venues as I could, but at the same time wanted to represent every song on the tour and as many of the guests as I could. For instance, Warren Haynes sat in for a version of Watchtower during the tour, but I chose to include the version with Bob Weir instead. In my first compilation (Celebrate 2000: The Best of the Dave Matthews Band), I included Haynes in the billing and felt getting Bob Weir on a compilation would be a rare treat. As far as the Tim solos went, I tried to find versions on shows I hadn't included yet that still had good quality. He is truly an unreal musician! I felt bad not being able to include every venue so I tried to get as many state-representations as possible. The only states the duo performed at which I wasn't able to included were: Utah, Tennessee, Kansas and Iowa. The show in San Rafael received good coverage thanks to Santana and a couple of lone songs from the tour being performed there. I tried to include some fun Dave Speak, but was fairly limited considering I had to go with shows that had tracks available by themselves. It sure would be nice if you could just rewind or fast forward in the editing process. In closing I'd like to say thank you to all the traders out there and of course a special thanks to the tapers who helped make this tour possible from our homes. Who knows if Dave & Tim will ever take the stage acoustically again? Either way, I wanted to try and capture some of the wonderful experiences I felt going to a couple of their shows (3.6 & 3.9.99) that tour. So, after 29 nights, including 13 states represented, 55 songs, 6 hours, 45 minutes and 29 seconds... enjoy the acoustic magic of Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds.
