etree lists shows for Feb. 2 and 4th and March 7 at this location.
I don't know which if any of those is the exact date of this show
(only the Feb. 2 show gives a setlist, and it matches this one.)
but I'll bet the GNR fans will be able to help clarify that here.
they mention being there before, and a song in here (mama kin)
being on their "live... suicide" EP (previously by Aerosmith) so
this is obviously a later version of it than that one. This is
a complete FM broadcast, although possibly an edited one since
even in 1988, several GNR shows ran longer than 65 min.
I looked in the discography for Guns and Roses, it lists one
album of "live era 87-93" but did not say what shows are included
in it. I checked an unofficial discography, as well as the
official one in the wikipedia and all they said about the location
was "at various live shows" all other live releases I saw were
from later years than this show which is (I think) an appetite
for destruction show, probably the only tour I've ever liked even
a little from this band. the album came out in 1987, but was followed
by a long tour and a rather quick jump into "arena rock" after that.
Singer Axl Rose's style is an acquired taste, and it may take quite
awhile for some to acquire that taste, but millions have all over the
world. hopefully the future years will bring more roses than guns,
but whatever they bring, with their new CD "Chinese Democracy" being
unleashed on Nov. 23, 2008, (their 1st new music release since 1991),
there's gonna be an appetite for some live GNR. I don't have much,
(and don't want much) so hopefully this thing has not been released!
I don't believe it has or I would not post it. They haven't toured
in awhile, although they were quite busy in 1988, and played alot
of shows, I haven't seen much of them up, and I know alot of people
like them. Honestly, I don't really like them much, except that some
of what they say is pretty relevant.
If you're looking for graceful, gentle or glam rock,
this is not your kind of torrent.
if you like it loud, raw and hard, you'll probably like this one.
do not sell this recording.
you can buy (and sell) guns, or roses.
But not guns AND roses.
(that's American democracy.)
