Show #6 of the Jeff Healey Memorial Project: This one direct from 8th Street in the heart of Greenwich Village, home of Electric Ladyland Studios. Originally built by Jimi Hendrix, it is responsible for the recording of many well known albums (and CD’s).
There was a series of live performances recorded and broadcast on WNEW-FM in 1990.
Don’t know where I was on this evening, but I missed recording it. Thankfully, my friend John did.

The opening announcement was edited out due to the background music of Jimi Hendrix playing "Electric Ladyland" from the same-titled LP. There was a tape flip during “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” which I repaired with Adobe Audition 1.5. Jeff hits a few bum notes in the first 2 songs, but then warms up and sails through the rest of the performance with typical virtuosity.

I have two more shows ready to go: Berlin 12-6-88 (may be 6-12-88), and a rare excellent quality audience recording from Ontario 10-10-88. I have 3 shows from 2000-2001 that I am having trouble finding in the archive. I am sure they will turn up soon, and I will post them if there is still interest.

Jeff Healey 3/25/66 – 3/2/08 R.I.P :
A tremendous loss to the music world of one of my guitar heroes, Jeff Healey. An amazing talent with a unique style, he is truly unmatched in his virtuosity. I had the immense pleasure of seeing him in New York in the late 80’s and he tore the house down: standing up, playing behind his head and back. His musical legacy will go on, as will his courage and spirit. Rest in peace, Jeff……

Peace,
