My FAQ:

Jimi Hendrix
(w/ Billy Cox, Mitch Mitchell)
1970-07-17
Randall's Island
New York Pop Festival

An exceptional soundboard recording (all but "...Watchtower") with a very frisky set from the man. It's the Gypsy Experience, or the Experienced Gypsy, as Mitch has come back to take his rightful place behind the kit, and the mesh between the three is astounding.

The version of Red House was used on "VOODOO CHILD: THE JIMI HENDRIX COLLECTION " a two disc set, the second disc containing rare live performances, including this track. (Interestingly, the pro-mastering done to that song included some slick added reverb, which I didn't care for at all.) So unfortunately that track has been ommitted for seeding here.

"All Along the Watchtower" is from a previously available AUD source, and it fits in OK, though the quality difference won't go by unnoticed.

Otherwise, be prepared for a treat, one excellent performance and matched with a nice capture perfect for remastering. When "Stone Free" kicks in, it will be instantly clear the treasure you're about to unfold.

A quality source with a slight bit more hiss than I can take, so on top of my usual process (EQ-COMP-Width-Enhance-Max), I used some Waves Noise-X on the front of the chain, tastefully of course.

PRE-13 SOURCE INFO
=====================

I got this from the news groups, and my guess is it's from a silver-bottom boot, as that's the artwork included. Otherwise, that's all it came with. I'm not complaining, and neither should you.
