Recorded in 1996, for planned release in 1997 or 1998. As I understand it, the album was supposed to come out on I.R.S. (Concrete Blonde's label), which was purchased and dismantled by EMI between Johnette's delivery of the album to them and its planned release date. Unfortunately, Johnette was unable to release this on her own, probably due to rights-management issues. Poor Johnette was also, around that time, supposed to record a full album as lead singer of The Heads, which was the members of Talking Heads, minus David Byrne. Well, Mr. Byrne put a stop to that, legally forbidding use of the name, and the plans dissolved. If you didn't see them live, then you missed a truly stunning version of "Psycho Killer" by Johnette.

I got this album through a trade a few years back, but only recently got around to correcting some errors in the disc as I received it. The left channel was several dB louder than the right, and there was a significant tape hiss. I cleaned both of those up, and came out with a pretty darn good result, without losing quality. All editing was done, of course, losslessly.

Cheers,
