While a number of these tracks are available on disc 3 of the 'Heart and Soul' box set, none of the recordings presented here have been taken from that release. Tracks 1-6 stem from a tape source (several generations away from the master tape, hence some hiss) and are actually a different mix; most notably, the lead guitar has much stronger presence here (whoever is responsible for the 'official' mix deserves a good kicking!). Tracks 7-15 I have taken from my copy of the 'Atmosphere' vinyl bootleg, after all these years still the best source for this material (no incomplete intro to 'Novelty', for a start).

This is my first offering in return for the great JD/NO recordings that have been seeded in these parts over the past couple of months. Enjoy!

One final note: I strongly suspect that 'Exercise One', from the Genetic demos, wasn't really recorded during those sessions. In fact, some clapping and audience chatter is faintly audible in the background during the intro (the first 45 seconds or so). Moreover, when looked at in any sound-editing programme, the profile of the wave-form is considerably different from that of the five other tracks (which look very much alike among them). Does anyone else have any ideas/suggestions?
