Notes:

The earliest known soundoard recording of the group, back in their early days as an "unknown band", at this show they were opening up for Country Joe And The Fish, and shared the bill with Taj Mahal.
Q-107's airing of the bands performance at the Fillmore West might be the first time that recording has ever been played on a radio station, and the fact that the Fillmore tape is a soundboard, I thought that this could be something worth while not only because it would the first time the Fillmore West performance was aired on the radio, but also because this would be a chance for collectors to have the recording taped in stereo, or have a stereo taped version.
The soundboard of this performance has been released to the community in mono instead of stereo, whether the master tapes are mono, or whomever released this recording to the community recorded on to a mono cassette, I don't know, but I recorded this broadcast in stereo for everyone
A very odd choice for Q-107 to play on the air to not only commemorate the bands 40th anniversary, but Jimmy's birthday, it seems odd that they would choose a recording that happened two days after Jimmy's birthday when there actually two recordings that have taken place on Jimmy's birthday ( January, 9th, 1969, at the Fillmore West, and January, 9th, 1970, The Royal Albert Hall)
The sound is a little rumbly, but I personally find it enjoyable.
