Not far off 30 years to the day!
Many thanks to the venerable D for sharing this low gen tape. Its a reasonably good audience recording from 1981, a little muffled to begin with but it gets better after the first two or three songs and is quite listenable. Some of the comments from Cave and from the audience are hilarious. Cave telling the audience at one point that they are the best they've ever had, and strengthening this compliment a few seconds later by informing them they are "pigs". One bystander near to the mic at another juncture is captured, possibly to the taper, making an assertion that the members of band are "absolute lunatics".

For more surrounding info on this period of the merry BP circus of 1981 have a look at the wonderful From-The-Archives site (surely one of the best of all archive sites on the internet).
