I don't know how to rate this compared to past Cave gigs I've seen. Fact is, I skipped the shows during the last couple of years, got to artsy for my taste.
So this was a trip back in time to what I remembered from the early 80's (with the addition of 15 roadies, 2 trucks full of equipment, sophisticated lightshow and a competent soundman).

Certainly the songs are not as sophisticated as much of the Bad Seeds material, repetetive, sometimes monotonous, but very intense and powerful and so was the show, Warren Ellis playing like a dervish, Nick Cave alternating between guitar and crowd pleasing vocals delivered from the brink of the stage, singing to and touching audience members, interacting with the crowd (like adressing some "big motherfucker with a baseball cap") - definately worth seeing and hearing - and loud, but loud in an artful way.

Surprisingly the setlist is a little different from the other shows, songs played in a different order, short main set but a great and long encore.

Recorded from the balcony, second row, pretty full, but mostly people who listened, only a little chatter between songs and during some quiet beginnings (of which there where not many). Sound is nice.

Minor flaws: missed the first 3 or 4 seconds of the intro, about 1 hour into the show I had some problems with the left mic for 2 min, replaced 7 bits of 0,3 to 5 sec. with the right channel.

The torrent contains the artwork (jpeg & png) and a couple of rather unfocused photos (20 meters, small Panasonic, 1600 ASA, what do you expect) - but it gives an impression of the (light)show
