I should note that I was at this edition of the Pinkpop festival! My only time there ... The festival is being held in the south of The Netherlands, while I was living in the north back then. Together with a couple of friends I woke up very very early that morning, and we drove a couple of hours to get to Landgraaf. We had to park quite far from the festival grounds, which caused us to miss the opening act The Black Crowes and arrive on the field during Mano Negra. I still really hate that I missed The Black Crowes! It was their first European show ever. Furthermore, it had been raining quite a lot during the drive down south, and it remained a wet and rainy day. Oh well ... Nick Cave was the main reason for me to attend the festival (combined with visiting Pinkpop at least once in my life), and he did not disappoint. It was my first time seeing him perform, and definitely not the last time!

Please note that this comes from a tape that was approx. 9 years old at the time of transferring. This means that some tape anomalies or degeneration may be present. If any, most has been fixed to the best of my abilities and most of this stuff is of very good quality. In this particular case the recording is of excellent quality.

The full show was filmed professionally and broadcast on Russian(!) TV. I have a rather decent VHS video copy (generation unknonw) of that broadcast. The image is fair and the sound is quite thin. So, instead of sharing it here, I hope a better quality version will pop up one day! So, if someone has it, please share. Else I might reconsider, and upload the video after all some day ...
