Hi guys - well, this is the most glorious wrap up of the tour that one could wish for!! Things started strange for those of us who chose to arrive in the mid afternoon when at 4-ish, Nick and the movie directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard casually strolled by into the venue… Nick slowed down ‘Hi guys’ as we sort of just watched them pass by. Some 30 min later, Nick re-emerged for a smoke and sat further down on a sidewalk for a bit - again, we just kind of exchanged glances but noone headed over or bothered him. It was pretty surreal…. The line grew rapidly and was going around the block by the time doors opened at 7 - and it seemed to me (at least from the front of that line) that the whole entry thing was the most laid back and mellow of any GA situation I have been to.

The show was AMAZING. I think, 9 songs is effectively 50% more than Nick payed at the LA and Montreal screenings… and he was INTO playing songs. Perhaps more than talking. But he did respond to each question quite thoroughly…. And there were some good questions actually. Mermaids was a piano version premier. Watching Alice was a huge surprise. And then…. OK, you can thank yours truly for And No More Shall We Part!! The songs has been on my mind non-stop for 48 h and I am not a kind of person to scream out song names… so on Saturday, I drew a sign with the biggest letters than can be accommodated on a sheet of paper… and as Nick was talking about Warren and actually brought up the name of the album, I raised the page above my head. Nick looked at it, and nodded, and started looking through his lyrics sheets - that’s when the guy who was running around with the mic rushed to me to check out what the sign said and repeated it for the crowd…. I died. …I left the sign with a friend of a friend who was in tears after the song.

Recording-wise - came out beautifully in my opinion! But - it was very quiet, especially questions-answers and there was no way for me to mess with the levels in my location. I shipped this to BLG the minute I got home - and here I am in the middle of the night looking at the amazing job he did with the recording!!!

I hope you like it! This was one of the most unforgettable nights truly…. A million thanks to Nick for this entire tour. And go see the movie - it is great!! I’ll probably go see it again at a distance of more than 2 ft from the screen ;)
