Hi everybody - so for all of you Nick Cave fans, we wanted to bring you the best recording of this pretty unique event possible. You already heard me rave about the show right here :) - http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=505524
Our tape was as good as it could be but the issue with audience tapes of such mixed ‘acoustic+audience questions+audience responses’ shows is that the applause are the loudest, questions are the quietest and music is somewhere in-between.
There was also a re-run of the live webcast kindly captured and shipped my way by Valerie in Europe. And I extracted the audio from that… The webcast had a different kind of problem: basically, anything that happens far from the mic is MISSING. A bunch of audience questions that Nick IS responding to are absent. In fact, you get a feeling that Nick is sitting in an empty room: he makes a joke - and there is barely any audience response to it at all! So sterile - leaves you with a very weird feeling about the whole event.
So BLG kindly made this really AWESOME mix of the two sources taking the best of each for your listening pleasure :)
