Well, "Can you feel my heartbeat?" All those in the stage-front crush certainly could, with their hands virtually magnetised to his chest. Nick was sensuously and obviously in the power seat. The rest of the audience was happy just to watch in envy. That was me anyway, in the first balcony being only an observer to this alternately light-hearted and menacing performance.

And what a show it was. In the weeks before we didn't know what to expect - solo Nick at the piano or something else? It was clear we were in for a treat when all those Bad Seed types entered the stage. Sit back and listen to the last show of their 'residence' at the wonderful State Theatre. We are often lucky to have Nick back home for Christmas. This was a very special occasion and I was in a prime position to capture it.

Enjoy!?
