Clear, if a bit echoey as typical for the Albert Hall.

Paul chose not to tour behind his "Royal Sessions" album but did at least this one-off charity show motto'ed " The Royal Sessions Live" for the benefit of Willows Animal Sanctuary & Animal Assisted Therapy Unit in Aberdeenshire. More info: www.willowsanimals.com
Rather cool in my book.

The line-up is pretty much the same bunch of Memphis musicians as on his studio album:
Reverend Charles Hodges Sr. (Hammond B3); Leroy Hodges Jr. (bass); Archie “Hubby” Turner (Wurlitzer); Michael Toles (guitar); Steve Potts (drums), The Memphis Horns, i.e. Marc Franklin (trumpet), James L. Spake (baritone sax), Gary Topper (tenor sax), and Lannie “The Party” McMillan Jr. (tenor sax), plus Shontelle Norman, Sharisse Norman and Stefanie Bolton ass backing singers.
Perry Margouleff plays lead guitar on "Born Under a Bad Sign", "The Hunter", "Can't Get Enough" and "Stormy Monday".

I actually like the show mainly because Mr. R does something completely different from his tried-and-tested Free-and-Bad Co.-warhorses set, and he does it with as much passion, dedication and vocal prowess as any possible. And his voice is still immaculate, of course. The show comes across a lot more lively than the somewhat "tame" album though I personally don't find neither earth shaking. Real classy entertainment, overall.

Please do NOT spread this show in lossy formats - otherwise: enjoy, trade, share!
