Audience recording of show by PJ Harvey at L'Aeronef in Lille, France, on 16 November 1995. It's quite a good recording, a little distant but with a depth and balance of sound.

I got this one from DIME. I've amended the last three tracks; there were a couple of gaps and loud extraneous noises between The Dancer and Down by the Water, which I've removed. The running order of the original torrent had 16 Naked Cousin > 17 The Dancer > 18 Down by the Water. According to http://www.baymoon.com/~thegarden/index.html, Down by the Water was the first encore track, followed by Naked Cousin > The Dancer. This matches shows from the 14th, 15th and 19th of that month (the only other French dates of that month with known recordings/track listings), where dbtw was always the first encore track and always followed by Naked Cousin.

Why, then, was the source CDR's running order different? Three reasons spring to mind -

1. It was correct and I'm making a mistake! But the reasons given above, and the smooth transition from dbtw to Naked Cousin support the amended running order.

2. The taper stopped the tape at the end of the main show, and again at the end of the encores. When compiling the CD, someone along the line thought that the two tracks with the the noises and gaps belonged together, and altered the running order - hence the two gaps in sound that were present in the original torrent, rather than one, as you might expect.

3. An unintentional error somewhere along the line. Deus ex machina...
