Queensryche - "Milwaukee's Best"
Northern Lights Theater, Potawatomi Casino, Milwaukee, WI, USA
January 30, 2008

Audience Recording: Zoom H4 w/ built-in stereo mic L & R .wav file 44.1 kHz 16-bit -> WavePad (track splitting) .wav PCM format (44.1 kHz, 16-bit, Stereo 172 kb/sec) -> FLAC Frontend (level 8) -> ABC 3.1 -> DIME

Recorded by Hurricane62 from left-center stage a couple of rows deep

This was recorded on the second night of three shows in Milwakee (7th or 8th show of 2008 tour). I have given it the title of "Milwaukee's Best" because this was:

A. The best of the three performances - not that any of the three were less than great, but this one really shined. I think not having to travel between shows night-to-night helped the guys catch their wind early in the tour.

B. My best effort at recording one of their shows - okay, I admit that I am a rookie and that this was only my 3rd attempt. My first was a disaster (Sept. 2007). My second was barely listenable and after some work I hope to be able to post at a later time (Queensryche Maplewood/St. Paul, MN, USA 1/26/08). This one came out good "right out of the box". I have not remastered these files. After listening to the final product I think all of you will be able to tune it to your own ears with some simple equalizer adjustments. If not, feel free to remaster and repost - it won't hurt my feelings.

I also recorded the third night in Milwaukee (1/31/08), but this one needs just a little tweaking before posting.

The US leg of the 2008 World Tour is being booked as a collection of "Hits & Rarities". The Milwaukee 1/30/08 set includes such rarified tracks as "The Killing Words", "Gonna Get Close To You", and "ANybody Listening".

Set-list:

Burning Man
NM156
Screaming In Digital
Welcome To The Machine
I'm American
Hostage
Bridge
The Killing Words
Another Rainy Night
Gonna Get Close To You
Neon Knights
The Whisper
Real World
I Don't Believe In Love
Anybody Listening?
Jet City Woman
Eyes Of A Stranger

encore:
Empire
Take Hold Of The Flame

Note that "NM 156" & "Screaming In Digital" have been combined into one track as there is no space in the transition from "NM 156" to "Screaming In Digital". Thus there are only 18 files for the 19 songs. Also, the audience applause during the encore break has been removed.

If I can figure out how, I'll post an .mp3 sample or two as well as some photos from the show.

If you are in the mood, you may want to isolate Geoff Tate's banter with the audience and amplify it a bit as it is sometimes hard to make it out over the audience's "participation". Audience is rarely heard during the musical portions.
