The Digital Dan:

Recorded live at Massey Hall in Toronto, Canada on June 25, 1975. Now that Rush has been playing together for a while, the sound is more finished and a little less raw as it was during the "Rush" tour. I originally thought the quality of this show to be less that it really is. Now listening to it again after remastering 40 hours of other Rush performances from the era, it turns out to be a fine sounding recording from the tour. The instruments are all discernable and clear and the crowd noise is limited. Geddy's bass is a little strong, but since when can that be a complaint? This is the best source for this show that I have so far been able to locate. For an audience show, the tapers got a very quite section from which to record as only the occasional comment can be heard. The version of "Working Man" on this recording is an incredible 17min odyssey with great soloing from Alex and another great drum solo from Neil. The drum solo sounds really clear and detailed. A must for anyone wanting a show from the Fly By Night tour, especially considering that it is one of the few shows from that tour known to exist! This recording is meant to be played loud, really loud, like it was at the show!
