Pretty much all Screaming Trees shows fall into the "short but sweet" category. This is one of these nights where I can't remember virtually any detail (in fact I only recognize one of the voices of the three people who were clearly there with me) except that I was surely in the same spot where I always recorded at the Showbox, up on the right directly about ten feet away from the PA stack.

I was also surprised during the transfer to hear that Mike McCready of Pearl Jam makes a guest appearance on guitar during "Dying Days" (the '97 tour also featured future Queen of the Stone Age Josh Homme on second guitar).

At one point I presumed this tape was a soundboard as we did a board a few nights later in Olympia (previously torrented) but it is my audience master though a pretty good one if I do say so myself. Samples provided. Not much set variance from the couple of other shows circulating around this period but you do get "Where the Twain Shall Meet."

Note: there are some minor glitches on this tape as the DAT transfer was problematic (spots of low level, very much in the background diginoise as you'll hear in the "Witness" sample) but they only effect a couple of songs and aren't all that consequential in my opinion. I figured it was better to share this as is than not at all.

Working on a couple of other Screaming Trees projects, too.
