NOTES:

And so we return to the Heineken Music Hall, where tonight we are fortunate
enough to be graced with the presence of Nick Cave a second time in as many
weeks.

I have an extra ticket to sell outside the venue, so I miss the first half of
Les Colettes' set. Based on the second half, I conclude that it's an
acceptable loss and turn my attention to Shilpa Ray.

The Brooklyn native performs tonight to/for a crowd that includes more than
its fair quota of ignorant, hostile arseholes. She throws them some bait and,
predictable as they are, they take it. I don't think they even realise they're being toyed with.

Nick Cave allows Ms. Ray the luxury of a generously sized support set this
evening, one that clocks in at a good 45 minutes. I enjoy it, not just for the
gutsy, spirited music, but also for the disappointment and irritation that
each successive song causes the turds around me as they realise that the end
of the set is still at least a further four minutes away.

The recording is excellent, blighted only by the usual thoughtless, selfish
wastes of space who insist on following me around to gigs.

As always, samples are included in the comments to assist in deciding whether
or not to download this.
