Hi all - and happy 2018!!
I was lucky to have been able to attend the last two (of four) Sigur Ros shows at Harpa in Reykjavik and the experience just blew my mind entirely. I am sure it's a combination of things - was my first time in Iceland as well, in this darkest time of the year... So I guess I had an 'immersion' experience :) I did not do any of the other festival shows that day - not a festival goer in general and wanted my brain to be musically untouched going in. What can I say - it was stunning, they sounded AMAZING and the performance felt so emotional, I basically broke down during Dauoalagio and again in the 2nd set during Ny Batteri > Vaka sequence - good thing I learned to do this silently lol... I think what contributed to the experience is the amazing sound quality (at least where I was) and the fact the the audience overall was so... ok, let's just say that during this heroic note Jonsi stretches for eternity at the beginning of Festival - there was no jackass cheer-leader producing a woooo or a whistle... you could hear a pin drop in complete silence when called for. Jeez, just looking through my stills, I am already craving one more of those...

So please enjoy this and let's hope for some more of these magical shows in some near future!
