It's almost 20 years since I first got a tape with the horribly off-speed SBD-recording of the Sisters of Mercy playing at the Amsterdam Paradiso on August 28th, 1983. Ever since it's been my quest to get it right. In fact I have already seeded an attempt at fixing the speed of the damned thing, using recordings of other concerts from the 1983 European tour as a guide. Then a couple of months ago fredheadset came up with a low-gen copy of an audience recording of the actual Paradiso-gig. Finally I had a reliable benchmark against which I could try to improve the slow SBD-tape (many, many thanks again for that seed, fred)! It turned out that my previous attempt came out a bit too fast... So I've made a fresh rip from the silver disc bootleg 2CD, Possession (Skeleton Songs SS 005/006; 1991), cleaned it up a bit with SoundForge's pen tool, did not change anything else and then compared the actual length of the corresponding songs in the two sources one by one, and adjusted the SBD-recordings accordingly. Mind you, I didn't go for 100 % matching song lengths, because after all, I wasn't going to make a matrix and anyway, we cannot be sure that the AUD recording runs at the exact speed, either.
I did change one more thing: I punched in the very ending of "Gimme Shelter" from the AUD-recording because the song cuts off on the SBD-tape. Makes for an entirely new listening experience! For the purists, I've also included the original cut version.

As a bonus I'm throwing in fredheadset's AUD-recording, mainly to accommodate anyone who fancies attempting a matrix after all (but be warned: I think it'll be a hell of a job trying to make the drum computer from both sources match perfectly!). Because that recording suffered from severely clipped peaks, I have tried to restore the clipping - and I do believe the wav-form looks rather more healthy now. I've also changed the index-points between songs and re-encoded to FLAC afterwards, so it's an entirely different set of FLACs than last time.

Anyway, this is what you're getting twice:

01 Burn
02 Valentine
03 Anaconda
04 Heartland
05 Alice
06 Emma
07 Temple Of Love
08 Floorshow
09 Adrenochrome
10 Gimme Shelter

encore 1:
11 Kiss The Carpet
12 Body Electric/encore break (on the AUD-recording)

encore 2:
13 Lights
14 Sister Ray / Louie Louie / Ghostrider / Louie Louie

I've included scans of the Possession bootleg CD as well as the original cassette artwork kindly shared by fredheadset.

Enjoy!
