SOURCE / LINEAGE

Stereo AUD trade tape

Trade tape > Computer WAV > TLH v2.4.1 > FLAC 8 > DIME > you
Big thanks to the original taper, and to the trader (gregg) who hooked me up with a copy.
I originally mastered this 2009-09-05.
The only thing I did on the computer was place track marks before each piece.
This FLAC fileset comes directly from those final WAVs's, which only needed SBE corrections in TLH; no CD-Rs or EACs.

NOTES

Snakefinger typically named his band & would often change it up from night to night.
For this show, I didn't catch the name - always assumed it was "the Kojaks" because of the trading title.
(That title had to come from SOMEhere, I just didn't hear it on the tape - adverts for the show, or something like that?)

It's stereo, however it's a bit muddy; but it's Snakefinger, so you throw the tollboth guy a quarter & hit the gas pedal.

Ok, so I have been putting up a variety of 1982 tour shows, and creatured as well.
But this is an oddball undated show that traded as "Snakefinger And The Kojaks" - no date beyond 1982, no city/venue either.
It's setlist hasn't matched any of the other known shows of the era.

During the band intros, Snakey mentions "local boy" Jonny Ryan from San Mateo & the new LP out being from "our local Ralph Records label".
Put those facts together & it's gotta be a Bay-area show.

Snakey also mentions later that he just wrote I Love You Too Much To Respect You a "few weeks ago".
That would fit this somewhere after the January shows & before the April/May US tour, more likely closer to the latter.
During the 1982-04-16 show he also says he wrote it "a couple of weeks ago", so I'm marking this one as April too.
Perhaps it's a last local gig before departing for the US tour proper.

Crank it up and ENJOY! it as I have, and share it so others can hear it.

Filenames have numbers on the end that are the TIMES (ex. - "...-359" is 3min59sec long).
One filename has "QM" in the name, as a question mark isn't allowed in names.

I mark the start of tracks when the music or count-in begins, not the talking about it before it starts.
