Recording / Performance Notes:

Cornell and Co. reconvene after a 16 year hiatus with the powerhouse of "King Animal". Three tracks from the new album
are represented here: "By Crooked Steps", "Been Away Too Long" and "Rowing". My only gripe is that the backing vox on
"Rowing" were from a pre-recorded track. The new tracks are trademark Garden-fare: overdriven guitar, odd Rush-like
time signatures, Cameron's Bonham-style drumming and of course Cornell's plaintive wail. The second song is a fitting
self-tribute recognizing that the band has perhaps been away too long. The youngsters in attendance are probably more
familiar with Cornell's CV from Audioslave more than anything from the Garden. Chris' vocals had some pretty heavy
reverb treatments which took a bit of the power away IMHO. I decided to stack tape this from the right side PA in order
to minimize the crowd. A pretty respectable pull from my vantage point. By the way if you watched the performance, I'm
the only d-bag facing the stacks instead of the stage. The two security guys in front of me were probably thinking to
themselves. "What the fuck is this guy on? The band is over there!" I'm still laughing my ass off about it. Too funny.
A slight amount of EQ was applied in Har-Bal to remove a bit of the rumble. I edited out Jimmy's and warm-up guy Don's
remarks. No great loss.

Of note:

Sorry folks, No "Black Hole Sun" here.

Please support the band by purchasing their new album "King Animal" or by going to see them on tour!
