from MILAVALENTI collection # 055
*********************************

The MILAVALENTI collection consists mostly of 80's and some 90's and 2000's masters in generally great sound. Most of the concerts
which will be uploaded from this collection are uncirculated. I met the taper who is an old friend of mine recently after more than 20 years.
He was happy to give me his very precious gems to be presented to a wider public. In the 80's I often went to concerts with him and sometimes
both of us were recording.
So some of the recordings which will be uploaded have been uploaded by me before as of my masters collections and some of his recordings
which had been uploaded by me already as first gen copies will now be re-uploaded as master transfers.
The musical style varies from "normal Rock acts" to Wave/Punk and Avantgarde. Also some German Post-Punk acts are included.

Master recording.

VG+, some equalizing was done (check sample). For a reason unknown to me on side one of the tape the level on the left channel was much higher than the right one. This I adjusted by lifting the level of the right side but then at some quiet passages there is some hiss on the right channel. The taper had some problems adjusting the level while recording as there are extreme variations in sound level created by the band. This I re-adjusted as good as possible.

Again a great show of the band's mid period with even more "decent" passages than on the tour one year earlier. But still in contrast with some "wall of sound" outbursts. A good example is the very atmospheric version of Love Will Tear Us Apart with only Jarboe's voice and an semi-acoustic guitar until reality get's us back with the harsh drum beats of Sex; God, Sex. Obviously for a part of the audience the new approach of the band seemed to be a bit too tame and so some guys are shouting for a higher volume (lauter!). But at the end they get what they want. I was not sure about the titles of tracks 5 + 6 which I found on another upload of the same tour. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Also I could not find out who the drummer was on that tour.
