Notes:
Blind Melon has been one of my all time favorite bands for about 15 years and I have always regretted never seeing them. When I first heard that they were touring again, I was a bit skeptical but decided to give them a chance after hearing the Chicago recording. I figured the band would be good but was worried that the crowd was going to be a bunch of drunk 16 year olds there to hear "No Rain". I couldn't have been more wrong, both in my skepticism and my assumptions of the crowd. I was blown away by the show, the guys in the band, the crowd, even the security....

We decided on a whim to bring all of our recording equipment (including the video camera) and not only were the guys at the venue super cool but I don't think I've met a more taper friendly band. After the show was over the guys came out to the bar and mingled with the fans. I spoke with several of them, thanking them for supporting open taping and not only were they cool with us recording the show but they offered to help us make taping easier. CT went so far as to ask if we'd like to have the tapers section roped off in the future!

The show was magic. The band was spot on. Travis really does the old material justice without sounding like he's trying too hard. He sounds a bit like Shannon but still has his own voice. It's a great fit....I don't think it could get any better. It was fun to sing along to all of my old favorites and the new material is awesome. The crowd was so into it, they were super kind and obviously grateful to have the band back. All in all, one of the best shows I have seen in a very long time. If you have a chance, get out there and see these guys.

What Would Heather Jr Do?
"Support independent artists! Buy the albums, go see em live, get a tshirt, sleep with a rockstar!!!"
