Show Notes:
The final show of a 3 show run for moi, and the band took it to the arena to pretty spectacular results. Sadly, this recording probably isn't
up to snuff with the SF shows, but it's still a very solid document of the proceedings. I had quite a cast of characters surrounding me, most
who liked to make noise, though not of the show-ruining sort. My favorite was the fat guy behind me (nothing against fat guys, but he was FAT),
asking the people next to him "Hey, are you gonna mind if I light a joint"? I turned around and replied "Only if you don't share". He laughed,
then made some smartass comment along the lines of "all I have are spliffs, can you handle that"? Like, I ate an ENTIRE 110mg cookie (equal to
2g's of kind) before the SF1 show, fat guy, what's your tolerance level? He's the loud guy in the background of the left channel yelling stupid
shit, and he should have taken his own advice, because he didn't even last an hour before he and his gal left. Then there was "loud bearded
guy" who felt compelled to clap loudly 12-15 times and "WHOOO" right before the end of each song (I was grateful when his gal shoved a Coke in
his hand, that slowed some of the clapping later on). The worst were what I thought was an old dude and a hot chick, turns out "old dude" was
actually "bull dyke with a bleached blonde pompadour". They looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders when moving into the seats in
front of loud bearded guy (clearly the seats weren't theirs). Bull dyke's button down shirt had "TOTALLY RADICAL" screened on the back, but her
hot friend was the problem. Her dancing wasn't the problem, nor were her anorexic shoulders where her shoulder bones sticking up looked like
Frankenstein bolts.....but the random out-of-beat clapping, THAT was the problem, and it started when they arrived an hour in, and didn't end
until about halfway thru "Fascination Street" when they *finally* decided to walk closer. I thought of many nice things to tell them at the end
of the show. their loss.

As for the music, after the bacchanalian fest in San Francisco, I'll just let your ears be the judge. No real surprises or first-time-playeds.
It was a LONG show though, clocking in at just under 2.5 hours. Cornell again was in fine form vocally, and the band backed him up in spades.

HUGE thanks to the inimitable Mr. Orr for the once-again lightning quick turnaround. I'm off to see Armored Saint open for Queensryche in
Seattle tonight, and while I'm sure he won't be upping those, he may have a few more nuggets taped by the Alaskan in store for you. Be sure to
stay toooooooooooooned....... (sic)
