Show Notes:
This was my 4th of 5 shows following Tesla on their 20th Anniversary tour for Five Man Acoustical Jam. The Diamond Ballroom is a very historic venue in OKC, it's been there forever, and many acts have played it. Both the soundcheck and the show were recorded and filmed. a *70 minute* soundcheck is the first track on this set (one long track); then the show follows. I was fortunate enough to tug on their ears for some "setlist variation" (all 3 shows I'd seen had been the same), so I was able to convince Frankie to throw in "Change In The Weather" like they did on the '05 acoustic tour (the twangy, slide version), and he tied that into the tornadoes that had touched down recently. BIG thanks to Tesla for the permissions granted that result in what you hear here (hear Brian flip the guy from Alaska shit during the soundcheck! Promise!)

Also, the girl I was dating at the time (we're still friends), had to have her 10 year-old bulldog put down while we were on the road, and Tesla was kind enough in Tulsa to dedicate "What You Give" to ol' Ludo...but then Jeff kinda forgot to at the beginning, so he tried to do it at the end, but kinda messed up, and felt bad, so he *re-dedicated* it to the pooch in OKC (long-time Tesla fans know Jeff wrote it about a dog, so....). Anyhow, just another reason I'll prolly pimp this band till they put me in a box in the ground.

And, as a final aside, prior to WYG, I do believe the best EVER version I've heard of "Modern Day Cowboy" was played this night (acoustic OR electric). Just something about the guitar interplay and the 'duo de twang' that Frankie and Dave were whipping out....good, good stuff.

I should prolly pimp Dennis too, for all the kindness he has shown in uploading my crap! So, yeah, thanks be to the Canadian! We seem to do well at this. And yes, there are many more treats to come (though I can't promise I'll win him over to their electric way of thinking....).
