Reseed Note:
I was given this tape by a good friend from London in the late 80s and was told i couldn't pass it on.
20 years later I figured it was ok to share it with the rest of the Cramps trading community. I snail
mailed the tape to neginiets who transferred and seeded it on DAD 2 years ago, where it was received
enthusiastically - it turned out that this tape had more tracks and better quality than any other known
recording for this legendary show. The sound is just a little muddy but all the instruments and Lux'
vocals are very clear and nicely balanced in the mix (although the recording is almost monophonic).
I'd say a good remastering job could turn this into a true gem!

Recently I noticed that this great show had fallen off the tracker and so decided to reseed it.
In the process i found that all tracks suffered from sector boundary errors, so i fixed those
with Trader's Little Helper and reencoded the resulting files to FLAC level 8.
Tagged the flac files, added a new info file, a new fingerprint file and a new checksum file.

Encoded & seeded by surfling august 2008.

Thanks to neginiets for the original transfer and seed!

Here are his original notes:

* COMMENT * ----------------------------------------------------

This is the 'LAST SUPPER' gig, released on vinyl as 'Live Venus' LP and as 'Live Venue' 7". But this one is
superior to both of them. The sound quality is far better than on the bootleg LP and - it's the complete set!

* INFORMATION * -------------------------------------------------

The sound quality is very good, maybe a copy from the master. Anyway there are some glitches, the
beginning of Strychnine is overmodulated and there's a break between Human Fly and Teenage Werewolf,
when side one of the casette ends. I smoothed the end of Human Fly a bit and faded out the audience
after Surfin' Bird at the end of the performance. As I wanted the sound to be as original as possible I left
the ambient noise which was on the tape, it's not too bothering or bad I think.

After a guy presents the band to the audience (in a wild manner...) Lux says when entering the stage:
"Hello Ladies and Gentlemen. That young man was wrong there, the name of this band is Benny and the
Biafran Blotations. And we sound something like this:" ... and then the Drug Train runs in....
At the beginning of Human Fly Lux seems to be transforming, sounds so great! And the endlessly extended
foreplay to Sunglasses After Dark - so gorgeous when Lux' voice sets in and Ivy's first guitar tunes sound so warm.

This is definitely one of my favourite Cramps performances!

I wonder if it's Bryan screaming the chorus of Rockin' Bones? Can anyone please verify this? Also it would be
great if someone has the original flyer of this show ("The Last Supper - Special Excorcism Night at the Venue")
if he can contribute some hiRes image of it here on DIME.

Have fun listening to this!

Please don't sell this.
Instead buy a self published Cramps record! The next one will be coming soon!

Keep rockin' bones,
neginiets
