Another show recorded by Scott Simpson. He provided an audio file
taken from his master tape for this upload.
Scott's own write up about the show and his recording is pasted below, here:

QUOTE: "Another fun show from Danceteria. These were the days when they
had a free band every Tuesday night. (and a check of date against day
of week may prove me wrong). But it was ridiculous. Name bands
showed up before the club opened to late night dancing. This
was back when everybody was dying left and right and no one had
any idea what was going. The Eighties almost killed me. This
night in particular was especially crowded. I remember most
nights the bands played to a practically empty room. Still
lugging around the 20 lb Yamaha tape deck powered by 8 C cell
batteries and professional Beyer mics borrowed from the equipment
room at Columbia Film Film School. I set the deck on the ledge
at the back of the room across from the stage and leterrip.
The glass clinking sounds are from the bar backs cleaning up.
This was a crowded rowdy house. The Femmes entered and, in proud
busker tradition, walked through the crowd to the stage playing a
kazoo, tin drum and I believe a trombone. then a great show ensued.
As I was going through and cataloging my masters over the past couple
of years the one master I could never find was this one.
(and 10K Maniacs also from this Danceteria era) But I did find
my never played backup copy, so this is 1st gen on a Maxell XLII.
So it's all that remains. Also, I turned down the crowd applause
between songs and it's noticeable, but given the dynamics of the
band vs. the proximity of the crowd it made sense at the time.
And then in proud busker fashion, they picked up kazoo, trombone
and tin drum and walked around the crowd and exited. A fantastic
night that began with the celebrations at the 100 Anniversary of
the Brooklyn Bridge. Bob Beatty [Hermesacat] did his typical yeoman's job of
patching to eliminate various mic glitches, so much praise goes to
him as well for pulling the best out of this tape. If anyone has a
problem, it will be with the noticeable drops in volume right when
the songs ended that I did during my manual dub of this show 32
years ago. And if it's a huge problem, fuck you."
