MISC NOTES:
Initially I wasn't sure whether I wanted to get a ticket to this show ($85 + fees) but I could not be more happy that I did! Willie is 85 years old in this recording and his performance is still electrifying. I'd seen Willie a couple of times prior but strangely I had never recorded any of the shows. Ultimately I decided that with his age being what it is I had better buy a ticket and mic-up. Indeed just the night before, Willie abruptly left the stage in Charlotte, North Carolina without singing a note, citing illness (a stomach bug). Willie headlined this show which also featured Sturgill Simpson and Chris Jacobs. I am familiar with Baltimore-native Jacobs, but was entirely unfamiliar with Simpson. All the same, I recorded all three sets.
