Brit Floyd
The State Theater
New Brunswick NJ
April 12, 2013

This is the band that used to tour the US under the Australian Pink Floyd moniker. I don't know the politics, but they now tour under the name of Brit Floyd, while another group retains and tours under the Aussie Floyd name. I like these guys better.

They bring an accurate and very well executed Pink Floyd show, and I have enjoyed them thoroughly every time I have seen them. The backup singers are absolutely incredible, my favorite being Ola Bienkowska, who takes all three sections of Great Gig In The Sky.

The sound quality on this one turned out quite nicely, especially for this venue, which typically is very boomy.

WARNING: While this recording is best enjoyed at maximum volume, I strongly suggest you resist the urge to crank it up during the intro track, and instead wait for In The Flesh to start before you max the volume.

They do a few tracks from a variety of albums, followed by some "hits". Before they start each section, they show a video of someone pulling the album from a shelf of records, removing the vinyl from the jacket and putting it on a turntable. That's why you hear cheers from the crowd preceeding each new album selection.

You can get a taste of the performance from two Youtube videos I have posted.
