Notes:

SoundForge was used for trimming the start/end of the WAV, adding fade-in/out and normalising. No equalisation was performed as I believe in letting people with better skills than me make any necessary adjustments. I was located to the left of the stage, in front of the left-hand speaker stack, maybe 6 rows of people from the front. Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good recording of an awesome band. There's obviously some audience chatter between tracks, along with the odd out-of-tune, wannabe singer, but I don't think this detracts from the recording and I hope you'll find it enjoyable.

As for the show itself, the band headlined the closing night of the festival and played 14 top-notch tracks with surprisingly decent sound quality, given the outdoor location and their crew having just 30 minutes to set-up the band's enormous amount of equipment. We even had the special treat of "In The Backseat" and I have to say that the crowd were extremely respectful of the song and remained quiet and attentive for its duration, though it does start off rather quiet.

To finish, I suppose, really, I can't sum up the quality of this performance better than quoting a huge Arcade Fire fan from the Us Kids Know forums on www.arcadefire.net. She has seen the band 16 times (so far), including an incredible 14 shows in 2007 - and we're only in July! She had this to say the day after the performance, "...one of the best shows I've seen them do (and that was the 16th). Crowd was really into it ..." - Thank you Fiona!

This recording is dedicated to all the great people from UKK whom I met at Latitude. Here's to next time!

Enjoy! :-)
