I am so psyched I was able to catch David’s show again during this monster tour!! Really missing HIS gig in NYC while living here would have been a really bad joke. But I was supposed to be overseas for work, then the trip got cancelled due to even heavier work commitments back home - long story short: I did not even consider looking for tickets until just a week ago when I noticed some light at the end of the tunnel. Needless to say, tickets were sold out for months… and then, for some crazy twist of fate, this past Saturday morning before I got a chance to fully wake up, Ticketmaster spat a single 2nd row ticket at me!! - and went into its ‘sold out’ mode again. I was staring at the screen for good 5 minutes asking myself ‘what the heck just happened? How did I spend $195 before my morning coffee?’ :)

OK, everyone by now knows what the show is like - it’s a gem! Just magnificent. But having seen it in MD in a large open air amphitheater 6 weeks ago, I’d say the venue and claustrophobic CITY definitely leaves its nice NYC footprint :) David seemed almost manic at times! I don’t understand where this man draws his energy from, to be on tour for half-a-year and delivering such a powerhouse of a performance!! 30-year olds need to take lessons ;) And the whole band is fantastic.

As to the recording - it rules!! I mean, I never say this about my own tapes, but it was such a sweet spot in front of the stage-right stack. I only had basically a truncated C-row of 3 seats in front of me, only 2 of which were taken. No loud talkers or chatters around - pure bliss! I have taken care of some clapper throughout the tape, and a few louder wooo-hooos had to go, just to be picky - but such well-behaving audience overall. Thx to bnz for touching up the volume :) - no ‘mastering’ per se was needed here.

So ENJOY! And hey, David is still on the road!!
