INXS were an Australian rock band.

This was Michael Hutchence's last concert performance.

In August 1992, Hutchence was assaulted by a taxi driver, causing a fractured skull. Hutchence did not immediately seek medical attention for the injury and waited several days before seeing a doctor. This head injury changed his personality and his mental stabilty, leading to periods of depression and increased levels of aggression. lashing out and threatening every single member of the band.

In 1994, Hutchence and Paula Yates became romantically involved, while Yates was still married to Boomtown Rats' lead singer Bob Geldof. Yates and Geldof divorced in May 1996.

In July 1996, Hutchence and Paula Yates had a daughter, named Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily.

In late 1997 INXS was scheduled to perform dates in Australia. During the tour, Yates planned to visit Hutchence with their daughter and Yates's three children, but Geldof had taken legal action to prevent the visit.

On the morning of November 22, 1997 Hutchence called Geldof at 5am, trying to convince Geldof to allow his children to travel to visit Hutchence. The phone conversation was unsuccessful. Michael was terribly upset and he said, 'I don't know how I'll live without seeing Tiger'". Sadly this was too much for Michael to handle and ended his own life.

Paula Yates died on September 17, 2000 of an accidental heroin overdose; she was discovered by Hutchence's then-four-year-old daughter Tiger. Tiger was adopted by Bob Geldof, the father of her half-sisters.

There are many lessons to be learned from this tragedy. But it's the music we will all remember.

Thanks to the taper for capturing this performance, this is the first time this DAT master has been flac'd.
