NOTES:

This was my 4th time seeing the Pixies (and third time post-Kim - and while I do miss Kim in the band, I've finally completed accepted her absence and have moved on. I think Paz does a fine job (and I'm so fucking glad they started playing Gigantic again - more on that later), and if the Pixies want to continuing making new music, as much as it won't compare to the "old stuff", who am I to criticize that? I guess if I had to choose to live in a world where the Pixies exist (with or without Kim) and are still making music, rather than no existing, well I suppose you know which I would choose...), and I have to say it was probably one of my favorite sets of theirs I've seen (way better than their Coachella 2014 sets imho).

There was no stage banter, no hello's or goodbyes or in-between jokes or banter, it was just Frank and company on stage literally playing note after note, one song into the next. And I'm okay with that, as the more Pixies that can be shoved into a 75 minute set, the better. I thought some of the new stuff actually sounded pretty decent. The song about witches and the one about moving into the mountains around Aberdeen, both of those stick out pretty well to me.

They did fool me with a tease of what I thought was "Here Comes Your Man", only for it to be "Death Horizon" instead, but as Festival Magic (don't have time here to explain what that even means, but just believe me, it's a real thing) would have it, "Here Comes Your Man" was the very next song. Overall, the sun was setting, the air was cooling and those beautiful festival vibes were in the air, and there was no place I'd rather be. And they ended with "Gigantic", which my friend and I were desperately hoping to hear as the closer (as were blasting it at my place that morning). I thought Paz did a fine job playing and singing on it, and I hope it continues, as it's such a great closer. Thanks Frank, Joey, David and Paz (and my crew - you know who you are). La la love you <3
