Soundboard recording
(a Jim F. recording)

** mp3 samples provided (as always) in the Comments section **

Here's another fine Jim F. recording brought to you by TheCommish!

TheCommish comments: I know it's fashionable to bash Jimmie Vaughan as Stevie Ray's "older, less-talented brother", but let me ask this: Exactly how many people ARE as talented as Stevie Ray Vaughan was? Answer: Not many. So if you can get over the fact that Jimmie's not the guitarist that Stevie Ray was, you'll find that this is a very enjoyable show, top-to-bottom, without any dead spots. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining this show is. A tip of the hat to Jim for being thoughtful enough to send it my way.

Lineage:
SBD > Sony D8 > DAT master > Tascam RW5000 standalone CD burner > CDR,
then CDR > EAC > WAV > editing (see notes) > WAV > FLAC Frontend > FLAC

Additional editing notes:
* Re-tracked show
* Deleted 20 seconds of dead space after announcer's intro in Track 02

* There was some "static"/crackling (a "sound crunch" as Jim described it to me) in the first 35 seconds of Track 10; since the left channel had more defects than the right channel, I used Audacity to copy-paste the good parts from the right channel over the bad parts in the left channel (during the first 35 seconds only); there is still a slight amount of static between the 0:20-0:35 mark in Track 10 because both channels had defects in those spots. The static/crackling was on the DAT master
* Volume adjustments (see below)
* Applied small fade-out to audience applause at end of Track 12
* Applied small fade-in and fade-out to Track 13 using Nero's wave editor (beginning of song was cut)

Volume adjustments:
(Jim mentioned to me that he was in an analog SBD chain, so when one guy would turn his levels up or down, Jim had to adjust for that. As a result, the "raw" recording from the DAT has some volume discrepancies in need of "smoothing out" in order to make the overall volume more consistent.)

Track 01: +12dB (0:00-0:48 mark); +10dB (0:48-1:27), +9dB (1:27-end)
Track 02: +9dB (0:00-6:05 mark), +8dB (6:05-end)
Track 03: +8dB (0:00-4:54 mark), +6dB (4:54-end)
Track 04: +6dB (0:00-2:13 mark), +4dB (2:13-end)
Track 05: +4dB (0:00-7:31 mark), +2dB (7:31-end)
Track 06: +2dB (0:00-3:05 mark), +3dB (3:05-end)
Track 07: +3dB (entire track)
Track 08: +3dB (0:00-5:07 mark), +2dB (5:07-6:00), +1dB (6:00-6:07),
Track 08 (cont): +2dB (6:07-6:20), +3dB (6:20-end)
Track 09: +3dB (entire track)
Track 10: +3dB (0:00-2:26 mark), +1dB (2:26-3:05), +3dB (3:05-end)
Track 11: +2dB (entire track)
Track 12: +2dB (0:00-0:55 mark), +3dB (0:55-end)
Track 13: +3dB (0:00-2:00 mark), +1dB (2:00-2:14), +3dB (2:14-end)

If you decide to download this show, won't you please consider posting a comment on the show's board? It only takes a moment, and believe me, it takes A LOT longer to prepare/upload a show for others to enjoy than it does to download and run.

And won't you please consider thanking Jim for this mighty fine show?
