Judas Priest

Rating: B/B+

Another small, but rare gem fro the Priest fans among us. Again, this was sent to me today and are VERY rare, so grab it and pass it
around! Judas Priest sharing a stage with Budgie! The original notes are below. Enjoy, as always! Imagine Budgie and JP on the same
stage in their heydays...

--------------------------------------

Here's a rare early recording of Budgie performing with Judas Priest. Back then Glenn Tipton wasn't yet in Judas Priest, and the band was
touring in support for fellow hard rockers Budgie, not having a recording contract yet. While the Judas Priest show wasn't recorded by anyone
(or at least hasn't surfaced yet), many of Budgie's shows back then ended with Budgie calling Judas Priest back on the stage to perform "Running
from My Soul" for a second time during the same gig, as a special encore. One of these shows was this one at the famous Marquee Club, and it was
excellently caught on tape.

Track listing:

1. Running from My Soul

Venue and date: The Marquee Club, London, UK, 11th February 1974

Audio source and quality: Audience, very good/excellent quality for a 1974 recording. While Judas Priest's part of the song might be a little difficult
to distinguish, I'm sure that most people will recognize Rob Halford's vocals starting at around the 5 minute mark, and if nothing else, at least Rob's
"thank you" speech at the end.

Special features: Currently the earliest-known live recording with Judas Priest on it. It was at this show where Gull Records' David Howells saw the band
and decided to offer them a recording contract.
