Flaws:
there are some occasions of level adjustment, primarily in the first 10-15 minutes of the show.
the beginning of d1t16 was a real mess - it sounds like one of the taper's cables was loose, so I faded it in once the problem was fixed.
d2t13 was cut, so I faded that one out as well.

Comments:
this is a well-recorded show, which took place in a light but steady rain...the rain can sometimes be heard between songs, bouncing off the umbrella protecting the mics, and adding to the "you are there" effect...

This Maniacs' set featured a nice mixture of songs: many of the 'old standbys' that they had been playing since the release of "In My Tribe" in 1987 were still part of the standard setlist; there were 3 partially-written numbers that were being tested on a live audience for the first time (2 of the 3 would be recorded for the 1992 "Our Time In Eden" CD); and there were a few 'oldies but goodies' that band founder John Lombardo and his musical partner Mary Ramsey joined in on...lots of variety!

Some of my favorite moments involve those 'too new to be known' songs - d1t13 is the one song I wish they had released - it is the perfect lead-in to my next favorite, "If You Intend"...these songs showed the band moving farther away from the slicker sound of the last 2 releases, and in a decidedly more funky, bass-driven direction...

Enjoy! - Zeb
