BLUESTONE CO. (fearturing CHRIS DUARTE)
Whiskey Dick's
Columbus Ohio
September 8, 2007

Bluestone Co. is a group from Japan very much in the vein of Gov't Mule, featuring the
scorching Guitar and slide playing of Toshihiro Sumitomo. They have formed an alliance with
Chris Duarte, and it's turning out to be very popular. Chris sings and plays guitar, making
Bluestone a two guitar band. This is the second U.S. tour, with dates extending into October.
Things are getting a lot "jammier" than on the first tour last year. Check out Yoshi's bass
playing, see who it reminds you of. Set lists change drastically each night. These guy's are
smoking live in the HEAVY sense, like early Mule. Go see them while you have a chance.

Master Recording - ON STAGE CENTER
Samples below

AIWA CM-30 STEREO MIC/SONY MZ-NF610 MD RECORDER>
AIWA XC-RW700 STANDALONE BURNER>
EAC>FLAC>DIME

This recording is a "true" front row experience, or representation, in a
stereographical sense. The mic was on the stage dead center, in amongst Duarte's
effects pedals(you can hears the "clicks" plainly between songs). This particular
mic is very omni-directional and really represents the two sides separately,
the left and right. THEREFORE, you have Toshi's guitar's in the left channel,
and Chris's guitars in the right, obviously with some bleed through.
The Drums and Bass are in both channels, Bass just a bit to the right,
because that's where Yoshi's cabinet was in relation to the Drums.
Listen to this out in a set of quality headphones, and you are "there", on
stage, facing the bass drum. If you're a slut for guitar tone, there is no substitute
for the sound directly from the amps, as opposed to through the PA. It's not even
close. Check out the samples. Hear for yourself.
